Scotty Rich is an energetic composer, arranger, and performer with a burning passion for all things Video Game. He has created original music for the popular mobile roguelike RPG OneBit Adventure, the 2022 game jam entry Dino Duel!, the true crime podcast Flashover, several projects for the YouTuber Distracted Coder, plus many more. Additionally, he is always happy to help anyone who needs a good backing track or theme, not just game creators.
Ever since he played his first game, Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on Game Boy, he knew he wanted to be a part of the industry. Despite being raised by a family of classically trained musicians, Scotty opted for an less-traditional approach to learning: practicing his favorite soundtracks on piano by ear. Eventually, he began producing and rearranging music from well-known media on his YouTube Channel, including songs from Mega Man X2, Steven Universe: The Movie, Deltarune, and the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It was shortly after he began receiving work from developers.
Submitting halfhearted pieces has never been something Scotty could stomach. As a game designer himself, he understands the importance of a complimentary soundscape when it comes to an immersive experience. Media comes in all flavors, and its music must adapt to it. Which is why Scotty takes great pride in his stylistic range; bridging genres like Chiptune, Lo-Fi Hip Hop, Orchestral, Drum & Bass, Swing, Acoustic Guitar, etc. He wants you to succeed in your creative endeavor. And if he ever has the pleasure of working with you, he will not rest until your project has the best background music he can deliver.
